Rockets lineup is adjusted again: Cut potential defenders and sign defensive players

The Rockets waived Nate Williams

The Houston Rockets officially announced that they have waived Nate Williams. Williams had previously signed a two-way contract with the Rockets, and it was not converted to a standard NBA contract until March this year.

Williams has played 42 games for the Rockets in the past two seasons, playing 20 games last season, averaging 7.3 minutes per game and contributing 3.2 points. But Williams performed well in the Development League, averaging 31.0 minutes per game in 21 games, scoring 19.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.7 steals.

Rockets signed Cameron Matthews

Houston Rockets announced that they have signed an Exhibit 10 contract with forward Cameron Matthews. This gave Matthews the opportunity to win a two-way contract spot in the training camp.

Mathews set a record in school history with 167 games at Mississippi State University and became the team's steals king. In his last two seasons in college, he was selected by division coaches as the SEC League’s best defensive team member.

Last season, Matthews averaged 7.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.4 steals per game
