Why do people always hand over pillows to the Celtics?

Welcome back to the Shisan Arena.

Let's talk about the two operations of the Celtics:

1. The 35-year-old Holiday was exchanged for 26-year-old Anthony Simmons, and also grabbed 2 second rounds;

2. The 2. The 1st round of Porzingis was sent away and 1 second round of pick was obtained, and George Nyan was awarded.

In a word - the goal is clear and the execution is extremely resolute. The fall of Tatum temporarily closed their window for championships; thus, tax cuts and pressure reductions became the top priority.

Before the playoffs were finished, rumors of their team breaking out had already leaked; but the operation came so quickly, which was quite unexpected.

Especially without paying any price, I sent away Holiday and Porzingis, two players who had significantly declined in form, and got Anthony Simmons - even if I play 2K, it would be difficult to do it.

Holiday is of course a good player and has the championship genes; in the two championships of the Bucks and the Celtics, he is the best outside defenders of their respective teams.

So after the Celtics won the championship last year, it renewed with him for 4 years of 134 million without any options - and his performance this season obviously turned this into a premium long-term contract.

Theoretically, the decline of the veteran is irreversible; it is difficult to expect Holiday to return to the top, so of course the Celtics have to get out of the trap.

But a while ago, everyone was thinking that it was probably not that easy for the Celtics to send Holiday and Porzingis away, and they probably had to take the draft pick.

But the Celtics completed the operation just two days after the finals ended - the Trail Blazers and the Eagles. This pillow was really handed in time.

The Trail Blazers sent Anthony Simmons away, which was not surprising; their team also had younger and higher picks in the backcourt, and their performance has also improved significantly this season. To completely correct them, of course, they must send Anthony Simmons away.

But they exchanged Holiday from the Celtics - they felt that Paul had only brought Alexander for a year and successfully laid the foundation for the MVP for the latter, so do they also want to replicate it?

Veterans like Holiday are of course extremely helpful to the team's locker room atmosphere; so do the Trail Blazers feel that they have completed reconstruction and are about to start creating a winning culture?

Apart from this possibility, I really can't think of any reason for the Trail Blazers to buy Holiday.

As for Porzingis, his biggest problem is his fragility. He only played 42 games in the regular season this season, but he was still injured again in the playoffs.

Although his contract is only one year left, the market value of such a player with a intensive history of injury will inevitably be greatly reduced.

So the Celtics used him + 1 second round to exchange George Nian + 1 second round - that's almost the same as Porzingis replaced George Nian alone.

George Nion was originally in the Cavaliers this season, but later traded to the Eagles, and now he is in the Celtics again, so it's a little bit of trouble.

But he is also a good rotation player, with a standard forward size and excellent three-pointer - if the Celtics keep him, they can just make up for the gap in the front line after Tatum's injury; if they want to change hands, they can probably get a good return.

Of course, no matter the ceiling or the expectations brought to the fans, he is definitely not as good as Porzingis; but who makes Porzingis too fragile?

Through these two transactions, the Celtics have saved almost 238 million luxury taxes and have also obtained two transaction special cases - 4.7 million and 22.2 million respectively.

and, after these two deals are reached, the Celtics currently have contracts, probably -

defenders: White, Anthony Simmons, Prichard, Schillman;

forwards: Tatum, Jaylen Brown, George Nyan, Hauser, Tyrman, Walsh;

center: Keta.

Horford and Connett have both contracted, and Porzingis has been sent away again, and their inside line seems extremely weak.

So the next step is inevitable.

Let's see who will be the next one who handed them the pillow.
