Mavericks CEO: Luca received a call from his boss 90 minutes before the transaction, and I was very awake at that time

Rick Wiltz, CEO of the Mavericks, talked about the details about the Luka Doncic's deal in a recent interview.

Wilz was interviewed when attending the Wall Street Journal Future Summit, and a reporter asked about Doncic's mid-season deal.

"I was very sober in bed at that time. About 90 minutes before the transaction, I received a call from my boss and told me to make the deal. My first reaction at that time was 'Who is this', and I just learned about it an hour before everyone knew about the transaction. My first 30 days in Dallas were wonderful, but then it didn't work. It was a painful journey," Wilts said.
