End the pain, Stephen Curry s official status in the Warriors-Rockets Game 7

In 2016, the Golden State Warriors made an unfortunate history as the first team in the NBA Finals to be reversed with a 3-1 lead, and now they are on the verge of repeating the same mistake.

In the first round of the playoff series against the Houston Rockets, the Warriors led 3-1, but then suffered two consecutive losses. Now, it will all depend on Game 7 in Houston on Sunday.

In Game 6, Warriors superstar defender Stephen Curry made 9 of 23 shots and 6 of 16 three-pointers, scoring 29 points. The Warriors are eager to see Curry play another great performance on Sunday.

Stephen Curry averaged 32.6 points per game in Game 7, ranking third in history (at least 5 games) 👀

On Sunday, he will return to the winner-takes-all stage!

Curry has been struggling with his thumb injury for the past three weeks and he will likely continue to play with injuries for the rest of the playoffs. Fortunately, even with a plywood on his right thumb, the Warriors have listed Curry as a player to play on Sunday. Shams Charania of ESPN recently reported Curry's thumb injury, saying he was coping with pain but was still sticking with the game.

"Curry sometimes needs to deal with pain," Charania said. "He told the people around him that he was hurt, but he didn't talk about it, he was just playing with pain."

Shams Talk about Curry's thumb injury:

"He gets irritated sometimes. He told the people around him that it was painful, but he didn't talk about it, he was just holding it back."

So far, Curry has averaged 37 minutes in the series this season, scoring 24.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.5 assists, shooting 46.7% from the field and 39.1% from three points. The Warriors desperately need Curry to play in Game 7 as their season prospects are at stake. The Warriors and Rockets will play Game 7 in Houston at 8:30 PM ET.
