Today, Lakers' team reporter Dave McMenamin wrote that in an interview with Spectrum Sportsnet after the draft, Pelinka said that the 2.03 meters tall (actually 199cm) and 100 kilogram sports forward is expected to become an OG-Anunobi-style team puzzle.

In the 2024-25 season, Thiero played 27 games for the University of Arkansas, averaging 15.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.6 steals, 0.7 blocks and 1.7 turnovers, with a shooting percentage of 54.5%, a three-point shooting percentage of 25.6%, and a free throw shooting percentage of 68.6%.
