Marcus Rashford: Manchester United striker says he wants to play with Barcelona Lamin Yamal

Marcus Rashford has confirmed that he wants to be linked with Barcelona star Ramin Yamal; the Manchester United striker faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford, with Marcus Rashford of loaning to Aston Villa in the second half of last season saying he wants to play alongside Barcelona star Ramin Yamal. Rashford, who has been training in Spain before the preseason, praised the 17-year-old star in an interview with Spanish internet celebrity Xavi Ruiz. When asked if he wanted to play alongside Yamal, Rashford said: "Yes, of course. Everyone wants to play with the best players. Hope... Let's wait and see. Barcelona sports director Deco publicly stated last month that the Catalan side "loves" Rashford, as well as Liverpool winger Luis Diaz. Sky Sports News reported earlier this month that Manchester United did not receive any offer from Rashford, and Rashford was loaned to Aston Villa in the second half of last season. The England international has three years of contract at Old Trafford, but his future at the club remains unclear.

Regarding Yamal, Rashford added: "It's hard to describe what he is doing, because he shouldn't be at 16. Or do it when you are 17 years old. I don't think we've seen this before. Lamin Yamal celebrated with his teammates after scoring a goal against Espanyol, helping Barcelona embark on the path of La Liga title.

Rashford is one of several players leaving Old Trafford this summer as head coach Ruben Amorin hopes to reshape his team after the lowest Premier League score in club history last season. Christian Erikson, Joni Evans and Victor Lindelof have all been released, while Jaden Sancho, Anthony and Alejandro Garnacho are said to be able to play.

Juventus has explored Sancho's trading conditions, and Napoli is also interested in the player, with one year left on loan to Chelsea last season. In terms of signings, United has completed a £62.5 million transfer, signing Matthews Cunha from Wolves and also interested in Brentford's Brian Mbemo and Portugal Sports forward Victor Yorke.
