Western media: De Jong has no agent now, and Barcelona doesn t know who to talk to about his contract extension
Barcelona are facing a tough problem as their Dutch midfielder Frankie De Jong currently has no agent. This made the club not sure who to negotiate a contract extension with, because De Jong has terminated its partnership with former agent Ali Dusson. De Jong's relationship with Barcelona was once tense, and three years ago the club even wanted to sell him to bring Bernardo Silva. At that time, Barcelona even considered de Jong's latest contract renewal as illegal. But with the intervention of the Dutch Players Union and the arrival of Flick, the relationship between the two sides eased. However, De Jong's future is still full of uncertainty. His contract expires on June 30, 2026, and the club stipulates that players with only one year left in the contract will either renew or leave. Although the two sides have reached a preliminary consensus on renewal, negotiations have stalled. The biggest problem now is that De Jong does not have a formal agent. Barcelona had previously communicated with De Jong through Ali Junsong, but after the relationship between the two sides deteriorated, the club had set up "communication barriers" for him. De Jong currently has only one Dutch lawyer dealing with legal matters, but she does not have the qualifications to participate in transfer negotiations. Therefore, Barcelona can only wait for a suitable negotiator to appear. It is reported that the salary of the new contract will be lower than De Jong's current treatment, but he himself still hopes to stay in Camp Nou. Until the new negotiator appears, the "mystery" surrounding De Jong will continue.
