22-year-old Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliott Anderson is expected to be drafted for the first time to compete in the World Cup qualifiers in September. Anderson won the European Championship this summer with England U21 and caught Tuchel's attention in a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday. Tuchel will announce the list of matches against Andorra and Serbia later today.

The midfielder, who played for Scotland and England at the youth level, was first drafted into the Scottish adult team in August 2023, but withdrew due to injury. He has been a regular visitor to the England U21 team since the summer of 2024.

Anderson transferred from Newcastle United to Nottingham Forest in June 2024 and played an important role in the club's return to Europe after 30 years. He made 37 appearances in the Premier League, contributing 6 goals and 2 assists. He played the full game in both top league games with the Forest this season and gave Chris Wood a great assist in the first game to help the team beat Brentford.

In Tuchel's first three official matches in coaching England, he chose Rice, Bellingham, Curtis Jones and Jordan Henderson as the midfield starter, while Gallagher started the midfield in a friendly against Senegal in June.

England will face Andorra at Villa Park on September 6, then against Serbia in Belgrade on September 9. Currently, the England team led by Tuchel is ranked first in Group K and has won the first three World Cup qualifiers.
