Rummenigge: There will be no additional signings for the Club World Cup, 30 million euros are nothing

May 28th, Bayern Supervisory Board member Rummenigge said in an interview with Bild Sports that there will be no additional signings for the Club World Cup.

The total prize money for the Club World Cup this summer is as high as US$1 billion, and Bayern can receive a guaranteed prize of more than 25 million euros in this Club World Cup. But Rummenigge said: "This will not bring huge changes. Bayern will not make additional signings for the Club World Cup. As in the past, we will make some big signings, but the Club World Cup will not have an impact on the transfer market."

Rummenigge continued: "The Club World Cup revenue is less than 30 million euros, which is nothing in the current transfer market. Even if you win the Club World Cup championship, you will get a maximum of 100 million euros, and the Club World Cup only has one session every four years, you cannot rely on this money to compete with the rich in the transfer market."

Rummenigge also pointed out that one of the major benefits of FIFA's reform of the Club World Cup is that the Federation Cup competition was cancelled. "Now the internationals in our team can also wear Bayern's jerseys to the United States, and the club will get the reward they deserve."

Then Rummenigge said: "The change in the Club World Cup system has brought the event to a new level. The funds have also played a certain role, and we do not need to avoid this factor. But more importantly, we have changed the competition system."

Rummenigge finally said: "The Bundesliga is the foundation. Only by passing the results of the Bundesliga can you qualify for the Champions League, which is a strawberry on the cake. The Champions League's importance in sports has also increased, because it determines the qualification for the Club World Cup. The Bundesliga will never be in a subordinate position."
