Reporter: Porto wanted to sign Rugani before, but failed due to Juventus shortage of defense
According to Italian reporter Manuele Baiocchini, Porto had previously been interested in Rugani, but failed due to Juventus' shortage of staff.
The reporter revealed: "Porto was very interested in Rugani, but Juventus' current defense line may be slightly insufficient, so it is not a suitable time to transfer to Porto. Rugani could have reunited with Francesco Valeoli (Porto's new coach), after he was loaned to Ajax for six months."
"The Portuguese Super League season is coming (the Portuguese league will start on August 9), and Porto signed Polish defender Bednarek from Southampton earlier today and paid a 7.5 million euro termination fee. Therefore, Rugani's plan to transfer to Porto has been ruined. Although Juventus only hopes to keep him temporarily at the current stage of the transfer window, he may also continue to stay for the rest of the season."
