Multiple media: Mancini negotiations failed; Marci will not leave the team; Forest are close to appointing Dyche

Forest have spoken to Dyche and former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini, who currently looks unlikely to return to English football, The Athletic reported on Saturday.

Marco Silva is not expected to leave Fulham.

Global head of football Edu and global technical director George Syrianos are leading the search for a successor to the sacked Ange Postkoglu and have held active talks with Dyche.

Forest are conducting a comprehensive selection process to determine which candidate best suits their situation, taking into account the style of football that best suits the player and the club.

Ditch has coached Burnley for nearly seven seasons and Everton for two years, and has rich Premier League experience, which is crucial to Forest and its large team of English players.

The 54-year-old Dyche resigned as Everton head coach in January this year after two years at Goodison Park. When he left, Everton were 16th in the Premier League, while his successor, David Moyes, guided the team to 13th.

In the 2023-24 season, despite Everton being deducted twice for violating the league's Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR), Dyche still led the team to stay in the Premier League.

The former Chesterfield and Millwall defender began his coaching career at Watford. He spent one season at Vicarage Road before joining Burnley, where he spent nearly a decade.

Ditch led Burnley to the most glorious period in team history, performing well in the Premier League for six consecutive seasons before being fired in April 2022.

Forest are currently 18th in the Premier League with just one win and will face Porto in the Europa League on Thursday.
