Manchester United 4-1 Athletic Club (total score 7-1): The Red Devils enter the UEFA Cup final
United secured their place in the UEFA Cup final with an incredible 4-1 reversal at Old Trafford. The Red Devils were 3-0 in the first leg of the semi-finals in Bilbao last week and they were grateful for their cushioning ability when they entered the half-time with Manchester falling behind with one goal that night. Mikel Joregizal's beautiful long shot made away fans happy and nervous. Manchester United continued to cause trouble for themselves after the second half restarted, but the magical moment of Mason Mount, who came on as a substitute, changed the game. His exciting spins and shots in the penalty area helped the home team restore a three-goal lead, destroying any hope of Atletico's turnaround. Casemiro scored a free kick from Bruno Fernandez with 10 minutes left to help Manchester United take the lead, and then Hoylund scored his third goal from close range after receiving a pass from Amad Diallo. Mount still has time to add more glory to the score. He used competitive goalkeeper Aguirezabala's poor clearance and shot the ball into the empty goal in the away half. Four goals in 19 minutes earned Ruben Amorin's side an impressive 7-1 overall victory and a All-English final against Tottenham Hotspur in Bilbao. The winner of that match will earn a considerable fortune next season by qualifying for the Champions League.
