Hoeness: Bayern has had Guade, Elber and Lewandowski, and Kane is on par with them

Hupu News on November 21st Harry Kane is Bayern Munich’s absolute shooter. Honorary president Uli Hoeness has begun comparing the England superstar to legendary strikers in the club's history.

"Of course we had very great strikers like Gerd Müller and Giovanni Elber, and Robert Lewandowski, but Harry Kane is absolutely on par with them. I wouldn't make any big distinctions in that regard," Hoeness said.

Bayern Munich's honorary president explained that Gerd Müller "maybe even more noticeable" because "he also became a world champion and won an incredible number of titles."

Kane has been playing for Bayern Munich since the summer of 2023. The 32-year-old has scored 108 goals in 113 official games for Bayern Munich. "What Harry Kane has shown here over the last few months, or almost a year or two, has been absolutely top-notch," Hoeness said, praising the Englishman's achievements.

What does Hoeness admire most about Kane? "In the beginning, he was just a shooter waiting for the ball to pass in the penalty area. But now he has become a playmaker, a finisher, and most importantly, a player with great personality who can inspire his teammates and point the way. And this is what we have been looking for," Hoeness praised the veteran.

Kane's contract with Bayern Munich expires in 2027. The Munich club hope that the forward will continue to play beyond the expiry of his contract.
