Saudi Arabia spent 200 million pounds to buy, will Bruno Fernandez leave Manchester United?
After the UEFA Cup final, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandez expressed doubts about his future at Manchester United, and Saudi professional league team Hillal intends to sign him. Saudi Riyadh Crescent has offered a generous transfer offer of up to £200 million for Fernandez, allegedly he has time until next week to decide whether to leave Old Trafford. Manchester United will make major adjustments this summer, with Fernandez admitting after the team lost the UEFA Europa League final that he would understand if the club decided to sell him. He said: "If the club thinks it's time to part ways, whether it's because of cashing out or something else, that's it. Football is like this sometimes. I've always been honest. I always say I'll stay here until the club tells me it's time to go. I'm eager to do more and get the club back to its glory. On the day when the club feels that I'm redundant or time to part ways, football is like this, you can never predict. But I've always said that and keep my promise." According to the Daily Mail, Riyadh Crescent is interested in signing the midfielder and is preparing to bid Manchester United about £100 million for their core players. The report also said that there is currently a three-year contract with a weekly salary of £700,000 and an additional clause of up to £65 million per year on the table. The Riyadh Crescent is alleged to make a formal offer to Fernandez in the coming days and he must make a decision by the end of May as the club hopes to finalize the deal before next month's Club World Cup. Despite Manchester United's poor performance this season, Fernandez has contributed 38 goals in 56 games, which is impressive. Therefore, Manchester United coach Ruben Amorin hopes his captain will stay at Old Trafford. Amorin said earlier this month: "I think (transfer rumors) are easy to understand, not just because of the data, but also because of the way he plays. He is a top player and we need top players. He is a leader and the captain. It is natural for people to want Bruno, but we hope he can stay. He is one of the best players in the world." However, after Manchester United lost 0-1 to Tottenham in the UEFA Cup final, the club lost £100 million and may have to cash out due to missing the qualification for the Champions League next season. Sir Jim Ratcliffe has overseen a series of cost-cutting measures since he acquired the club's stake, and Manchester United will also pay a £10 million fine to sponsor Adidas for missing the Champions League.
