Official: Liverpool will go to Anfield via different routes on Sunday, safety is the top priority

May 20th News Liverpool will usher in the last game of the season this Sunday, after which players and coaches will lift the Premier League trophy. Before the game, the team bus will go to Anfield Stadium on a different route than usual.

After the end of the game against Crystal Palace (4:00 pm local time, 23:00 pm), the 2024-25 season will end successfully. Merseyside police decided after consultation with the club that the Reds will divert the route when they head to the stadium.

Welcoming the team to the stadium is an important part of the warm atmosphere before the game, but for safety reasons, the road to the stadium must be kept open. By then, the team bus will enter the stadium from Akers Lane, arrive at about 2:30 pm, then pass through Shankley Gate, and then pass through Anfield stands to enter the stadium. The route will be set up with barricades and clearly marked under the guidance of police and administrators.

For safety reasons, the club decided in advance to use other routes to enter the stadium to participate in this game, because the safety of everyone is the priority of the match day. The new plan means that fans participating in the game will have more room to ensure that the team gets the welcome they deserve without compromising safety. Please note that the Anfield Road fan zone will be closed due to this game. In addition, additional road closure measures will be implemented. Please check your route plan to the stadium in advance.

Liverpool's security team and Merseyside Police will coordinate the operation. If you are asked to go to a safer location, please support the guidance of the police and managers so that the team buses can pass safely and arrive at the stadium in time.
