Mueller: I m not disappointed with leaving Bayern, but I don t like the way of communicating to end the contract
August 20th: Mueller, who has started a new chapter in the White Waves of Vancouver, was interviewed by German media Bild and talked about leaving Bayern. Heres announced at the premiere of Mueller's documentary that the player would end his Bayern career this summer, when the club had made a decision but had not notified Mueller himself. In response, Mueller said in his latest interview: "The decision has been made within the club, but has not told me yet. Heness tried to prepare me for the premiere and talk publicly about my contract situation. To be honest, I don't think it's a good way to deal with it, and I would rather they tell me directly. Anyone who knows me knows that I prefer to have something to say." When asked if he was disappointed that Bayern's career ended in this way, Mueller replied: "No, I'm not disappointed. As mentioned in my farewell letter in early April, the communication about my ending of the contract was ignored. I think, I have expressed my dissatisfaction with the person in charge about this, and I don't like this way." Muller revealed that in negotiations with the club, he expressed his hope to play for another year, as sports director Ebert promised at a press conference in early January: "So at that point in time, considering the previous communication, I was really surprised to know that I would not get a new contract. However, it has been a long time since the matter has passed, and all parties have expressed their opinions." Bayern had hoped that Mueller would join the club's partner Los Angeles FC, but why didn't it happen in the end? "I had a private meeting in Munich, but I finally chose Vancouver White Waves. From the beginning, I felt it was perfect for me." Speaking of new life in North America, Mueller said, "So far, life here is very interesting! When you take this step, you will naturally face many unknowns. But from the moment I chose Vancouver, I immediately felt that the people and atmosphere of the city were very compatible with me. Of course, the main purpose of my visit here was to kick." Good football, once my sports career is on track, I believe I will enjoy the city and its surroundings more." Muller signed with Vancouver Bailang until the end of 2026. Regarding whether he could imagine returning to Bayern in another identity, he said: "I have just started a new chapter in Canada. For the past four months, I have been busy saying goodbye to Bayern, which is already hard enough. Now I have finally completed this process, but you ask me when will I go back to Bayern? You are so humorous..."
