Mourinho s annual salary before tax in Benfica was 5 million euros before tax, and increased to 6 million euros in the second year

Hupu September 20th, one of the three major newspapers in Portugal exclusively revealed the details of Mourinho's contract.

Mourinho's contract with Benfica will last until the end of the 2026-27 season, with a clause that allows either party to terminate the contract within 10 days after the end of the last game of the 2025-26 season.

If this happens, any party who decides to leave must compensate the other party half of the remaining amount of the contract, that is, about 5 million to 6 million euros.

If the coach receives this compensation, the amount after tax is about 3 million euros.

Meanwhile, Mourinho will earn €5 million in his first season in coaching Benfica and rise to €6 million in his second season.

If either party chooses not to renew the contract within the prescribed period, this amount will be used to calculate the compensation to be paid.
