Magic Flute: The moment of parting comes the last dance of Bernabeu. Real Madrid is my eternal home
On May 23, Modric announced on his personal social media that he would leave Real Madrid after the end of the Club World Cup.
Modric's social media content is as follows:
The moment of parting has come after all. This is a moment that I never want to face, but soccer is like this. Even everything in life has its beginning and end... This Saturday, I will complete my last dance at the Bernabeu Stadium.
In 2012, I came with the dream of wearing the best team in the world and the ambition to create great things, but I never foreseeed that I could experience such glorious years. Playing for Real Madrid has completely changed my career and life trajectory. I feel honored to be part of one of the most successful times in this all-time best club.
Over the years, I have experienced countless extraordinary moments: those seemingly impossible reversals, the glory of the crowned champions, the joy of celebrations, and the magical nights at the Bernabeu Stadium... we have won everything, and I feel extremely happy. Really, extremely happy.
But what is more precious than championship and victory is you - all the love that Meilinge has given me. I don’t know how to describe this special bond with you, nor how to express the support, respect and love I feel. Every time the fans stand up and every affection from you will always stay in my heart.
I would like to pay my sincerest respect to the club, especially Chairman Florentino, all teammates, the coaching team, and everyone who has helped me over the years.
At this moment, my heart is full of pride, gratitude and indelible memories. Even after the Club World Cup, I can no longer wear this white robes and gallop across the green field, but the soul of the Madridists will stay forever.
We will eventually meet again. Real Madrid will always be my home, this is a lifelong belief.
