Europa League champion Tottenham Hotspur changes coaching team, bringing the "Little Bee" meritorious coaching team

On June 12, Tottenham Hotspur, one of the "six giants" in the Premier League, announced the appointment of Brentford coach Thomas Frank as the new head coach, with the contract until 2028.

The 51-year-old Danish coach succeeds Australian Ang Postkoglu. Postkogru was fired earlier this month, even though he led Tottenham to the UEFA Cup last month.

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club released a poster to welcome Thomas Frank.

Frank coached Brentford, nicknamed "The Bee", for seven years, leading the team to advance from the Championship to the Premier League in 2021.

He is Tottenham's fourth official head coach since June 2021.

Tottenham ranked only 17th in the Premier League last season, losing 22 games in 38 games, ranking 7 places and 18 points behind Brentford.

However, they beat Manchester United in the UEFA Cup final in Bilbao, Spain, to qualify for the Champions League next season - their first major event trophy in 17 years.

Brentford's English coach Justin Cochran was also poached by Tottenham and will serve as Frank's assistant coach. Frank also brought team performance director Chris Haslam and first-team analyst Joe Newton from Brentford, and another assistant coach Andreas Georgeson joined from Manchester United.

Brentford Football Club released a poster thanks Frank. The numbers on the poster confirm the achievements Frank has led the team: coaching 315 games, winning 130 games, scoring 498 goals, and winning a Premier League Championship upgrade play-off title.

Brentford said in a statement that all the people related to the club "want to thank Thomas for their huge impact on the club's history."

Frank is known for his ability to use game statistics. He had previously stated that he did not like shooting outside the penalty area.

Last season, 23% of Brentford's shots came from outside the penalty area, the lowest in the Premier League, while Tottenham Hotspur had 28%; Brentford had 675 cross attempts, while Tottenham completed 752. Frank's arrival may make the team more picky in the wing options.

Another striking statistic is his team's willingness to compete in the air, which was the highest in the Premier League last season, far exceeding Tottenham's 872 times. Tottenham is expected to increase in the number of top-ups, but like long shots and crosses, Frank seems to want players to be smarter when they compete for top-ups.

In addition, Brentford has made far less fouls than Tottenham in the past two seasons - in fact, only Manchester City had fewer fouls than Brentford last season.
