ESPN: Brazilian Football Association Ethics Committee accepts allegations against the current chairman and initiates two investigations

May 13th According to ESPN on Monday, the Brazilian Football Association Ethics Committee accepted the allegations against the current Football Association Chairman Ednaldo Rodriguez and launched two investigations into him.

According to documents obtained by ESPN, the Ethics Committee has reported the start of the internal investigation to Rep. Daniela Canero and City Councilman Marcos Dias Pereira, who have recently filed complaints against Ednaldo.

Perreira formally filed a case with the Labor Procuratorate (MPT) after receiving reports on workplace bullying, sexual harassment, persecution, public humiliation, and secret camera surveillance. In addition, he pointed out that the CBF violated the Code of Conduct Agreement signed with MPT in 2021, which was designed to prevent misconduct within the Federation. The request from the Councillor includes the immediate dismissal of Ednaldo Rodriguez and some of its management members, and the Ethics Committee will now listen to employees and review the submitted documents. The second investigation was based on the request of Daniela Canero, who applied to the Supreme Court (STF) for immediate dismissal of Ednaldo and requested a reconsideration of an agreement approved by the court in February that ended the challenge to the CBF election process.

Danira submitted an identification report, pointing out that former CBF vice-chairman Antonio Carlos Nunes Delima's signature on the document may have been forged, and there is also a medical report that he had cognitive impairment when signing the document.

The opening of these investigations further increased the pressure on Ednaldo Rodriguez, complicating the situation of his continued power. According to ESPN, the Rio de Janeiro court was originally scheduled to subpoena Antonio Carlos Nunes De Lima to testify on Monday due to suspected of forging of signatures. However, the hearing was cancelled a few hours ago due to health issues.
